Savoured by more, alluring the finest

THAIFEX— World of food ASIA concluded on a successful note for the second time in Bangkok and once more sharpened its profile as the central platform for the food and beverage business in Southeast Asia.

THAIFEX— World of food ASIA brought together 855 suppliers from 32 countries, who presented products and services in 7 halls, spanning across 42,000 square metres.The trade fair was officially opened by the distinguished guest, H.E. Mr. Suriya Lapvisutisin, Thailand’s Deputy Minister of Commerce.




Exhibitors unanimously praised the trade visitors coming from almost 100 countries, calling them strongly represented, expert and equipped with a high degree of decision-making authority. More than 660 overseas trade mission buyers from over 30 countries attended the fair with a core sourcing mission.


Increased visitorship was registered mainly from the USA, Middle Eastern region, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore.
In total, some 80,000 visitors, including more than 18,000 trade visitors, flocked to THAIFEX— World of food ASIA 2005.

Under the umbrella of THAIFEX - World of food ASIA 2005 is a string of supporting programmes offering seminars on current issues affecting the food and beverage industry. Various aspects of the food and beverage industry were addressed at THAIFEX - World of food ASIA 2005.

Making a successful debut this year is the B2B matchmaking programme between exhibitors and the anchor retailer for the Procurement Centre.

During THAIFEX - World of food ASIA 2005, individual business match-making sessions were organized between exhibitors and METRO Cash & Carry Vietnam Limited, which involved critical decision makers who are looking towards establishing long-term business contracts.

Next year, in the pipeline are plans to further enhance this procurement center and also extending the invitation to other major retailers who are looking forward to broaden their market reach.
